Stocks opened lower Thursday, with the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite leading the way lower after January inflation data came in hotter than expected. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.40% fell 247 points, or 0.6%, while the S&P 500 SPX, -0.76% shed around 1% to 4,541.
