API data reportedly show a weekly U.S. supply fall for crude, sharp rise for gasoline

The American Petroleum Institute reported late Tuesday that U.S. crude supplies fell by 1.6 million barrels for the week ended Jan. 28, according to sources. The API, however, also reportedly showed a weekly inventory climb of 5.8 million barrels for gasoline, while distillate supplies decline by 2.5 million barrels.
