Stocks end higher, with Nasdaq at record after testimony by Fed’s Powell

Stocks ended moderately higher Tuesday, with the Nasdaq Composite finishing at a record, after Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell testified before a House panel, elaborating further on the central bank’s outlook for growth and inflation. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose around 69 points, or 0.2%, to close near 33,946, according to preliminary figures, while the S&P 500 gained around 22 points, or 0.5%, ending near 4,246.
