Stocks were down slightly after the opening bell Monday, as investors continued to assess the threat of a Russian invasion of Ukraine as well as the pace of Federal Reserve rate hikes in the face of persistently high inflation. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.19% fell 134 points, or 0.4%, to 34,603, while the S&P 500 SPX, +0.07% was down 0.1% at 4,413.
