Economic growth came in at 4.9 percent, year-over-year, for the third quarter of 2021, indicating that the recovery still has plenty of steam over what was happening last year. Inflation, however, still remains high with the quarterly annualized rate for the third quarter coming in at 5.7 percent, down slightly from the 6.1 percent it posted in quarter two.
