Consumer spending in the U.S. likely rose 0.6% in September while incomes fell 0.4%, according to economists surveyed by the Wall Street Journal. So-called “core” inflation, as measured by the personal consumption expenditure price index, is expected to rise at a 3.7% annual rate, up from 3.6% in the prior month.
