U.S. stock benchmarks rose Tuesday morning, extending gains after the largest four-day rally since late July for both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.14% was up 0.3% at 35,371, the S&P 500 index SPX, +0.27% climbed 0.3% to 4,501, while the Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, +0.35% advanced 0.3% at 15,072.
