Stocks ended sharply higher Tuesday, with the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite taking back a big chunk of the previous session’s rout. The blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.92% rose around 355 points, or 1%, to close near 34,358, according to preliminary figures, more than reversing Monday’s fall.
