U.S. stocks rise Thursday, as Wall Street aims to wrap up the last trading day of September and the quarter, as investors await another appearance by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, who will appear before the House Financial Services Committee. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.13% was up 164 points, or 0.5%, at 34,554, the S&P 500 index SPX[ was climbing 0.5% to 4,381, while the Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, +0.76% was up 0.7% early in the session.
