12:05 US benchmarks slide into the red at midday The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 66 points over the morning to 35,338, the S&P 500 also followed suit shedding 13 points after the morning bell to hold at 4,482. The sentiment continued over to the NASDAQ which lost 37 points to sit at 15,004.
