US stocks were on course for opening gains on Tuesday, extending Monday’s advances as investors await more US housing market data and the Federal Reserve’s Jackson Hole symposium at the end of the week. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average were 0.1% higher, while those for the broader S&P 500 index added 0.2%, having closed at its second-highest level ever on Monday, and tech-laden Nasdaq-100 futures rose 0.3%.
