U.S. stocks finished lower Tuesday, halting a five-day run of record finishes for the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500. The decline for the Dow and S&P 500 was the steepest daily drop since July 19 and came as July retail sales came in weaker than expected amid concerns about the economic impact of the delta variant of the coronavirus.
