4:05pm: US equities end mixed session US stocks closed mostly down on COVID-19 variant concerns and after several manufacturing PMI figures in China and the US fell short of market expectations. On the day, the Dow declined 97 points, or 0.28%, to 34,838 and the S&P 500 dropped 0.18% to 4,387.
