4.05pm US stocks power Wall Street to positive territory on strong earnings Wall Street recorded a fourth consecutive day of gains after another batch of strong earnings helped US indices to recover from Monday’s selloff. The S&P 500 closed over 1% higher at 4,412 points, while the the Dow continued to gain throughout the afternoon, closing at 35,062 — a 0.7% increase.
