4:10pm: Tech stocks drive afternoon rally The Dow recovered some ground in the afternoon, closing Monday down 85 points, 0.3%, at 34,394. The Nasdaq gained 105 points, 0.7%, to 14,174, a record close, and the S&P 500 swung into positive territory, adding 8 points, 0.2%, to 4,255, also a record.
