JERUSALEM (Reuters) -Intel Corp signed a deal to buy Israeli chipmaker Tower Semiconductor for $5.4 billion, the companies said on Tuesday, as Intel looks to further expand its manufacturing capacity and technology portfolio amid rising demand.
