Oil futures rose for a third straight day Thursday in the final session ahead of the Christmas holiday, boosted as worries over the effect of the omicron variant of the coronavirus on fuel demand faded, analysts said. West Texas Intermediate crude for February delivery CL00, +1.22% CLG22, +1.22% rose $1.03, or 1.4%, to end at $73.79 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
