Moderna, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRNA) found itself in a controversy after Japan suspended the use of about 2.6 million doses of the company’s COVID-19 vaccine following reports of contamination. Three lots of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine — lot numbers 3004667, 3004734 and 3004956 — were suspended following reports from vaccination sites of a potential foreign particulate substance observed in unused vials from lot 3004667.
