12.05 pm: Dow and S&P 500 hit all-time highs on strength in tech stocks US stocks advanced in noon trading on the back of stronger-than-expected corporate earnings. At midday, the Dow rose 84 points to 35,825, while the S&P 500 gained 18 points at 4,584 and the tech-heavy Nasdaq climbed 61 points, or 0.4%, to 15,288.
