US large-caps led the gains and weren’t derailed in late December after the Federal Reserve unveiled plans to accelerate monetary policy tightening in 2022. At the start of 2021, few predicted that US stocks would post another year of resounding gains, or that Tesla shares would soar to join the ranks of the megacaps.
