Moderna Inc. MRNA, -7.45% said in a letter to shareholders disclosed Tuesday, Chief Executive Stéphane Bancel said the biotechnology company had shipped about 800 million doses of its COVID-19 vaccine to more than 60 countries in 2021, and more than tripled the amount of cash and cash equivalents it held. Meanwhile, the stock dropped 1.2% in premarket trading, after dropping 7.5% on Monday, and tumbling 27.9% in December.
