Centene Corp. posted better-than-expected adjusted second-quarter profit Tuesday and offered guidance that was above consensus. The healthcare company had a loss of $535 million, or 92 ce3nts a share, in the quarter, after income of $1.206 billion, or $2.08 a share, in the year-earlier period.
